Rabbi Alex Rosenbaum
Rabbi Alex Rosenbaum - Wellness Center Director
Rabbi Alex grew up in Beachwood, Ohio in the heart of Cleveland’s vibrant Jewish community. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelors degree in Anthropology. A Midwesterner at heart, she made her way out to Los Angeles in 2017 to attend the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. Over the years, she has dabbled in many different iterations of the rabbinate from hospital chaplaincy at the Cleveland Clinic and spiritual counseling at Beit T'Shuvah to young adult education with Moishe House and pulpit work with Sinai Temple and Temple Aliyah in Los Angeles. She has found herself drawn to all of these paths, and through it all what she loves about engaging with our rich tradition is finding new, creative ways to make Judaism relevant and nourishing in our lives. Rabbi Alex is thrilled to be returning home to the Jewish community that instilled in her a deep love of Jewish tradition, ritual and peoplehood. She is excited to bring her passion for mental, physical and spiritual health to B’nai Jeshurun as she spearheads our wellness initiative as founding director. Additionally, Rabbi Alex is returning to her alma mater, Gross Schechter Day School as the Jewish Living Coordinator. She looks forward to a lifetime of deep learning, connecting with the Divine, and tending to the spiritual needs of her community. Rabbi Alex met her husband (Rabbi Josh Jacobs) at rabbinical school, and lucky for her, he fell in love with Cleveland, too! They live their lives in service of the Jewish people and their dog, Tula.

Thursday, Nov 6th 6:00p to 7:30p
Ariela Sharon Yomtovian is leading a storytelling workshop! Hide and Seek, a journey into the story of Adam and Eve, is a 6 part series, open to all, that will explore how we interact with Jewish text. Our time will be spent getting to know the story's characters and observing the way we relate to them. When we gather, we will focus on the way we connect to the text and why. We will use various art mediums to reveal aspects of the story and of ourselves that we may have not noticed before. The hope is that everyone who participates walks away with a new perspective on the story of Adam and Eve and with a whole bag of helpful resources to use when engaging with other Jewish sources. -
