Thank you to everyone who participated in our Chalk Art Festival! All of the work was truly moving, inspiring and it brought color and connected many of you back to our synagogue!



Do you have what it takes to DESIGN the 5871 B’nai Jeshurun New Year’s Card? 
All youth under the age of 12 can enter!

You can include Jewish symbols, a wish for the New Year or anything that makes you think about all of the fall Jewish holidays. Use your own creativity; the ideas and options are endless!

The winner will have their design printed on our card that every member will receive and will be notified by August 31.

Here’s what you need to know:
•    Create your design using a plain white sheet of 8.5” wide X 11”  high paper (printer paper will work)
•    Use crayons or markers or anything that shows up bold and bright to create your design 
•    Take a picture of your finished design and email to: Shani Kadis. (All pictures should be in PDF, JPG or PNG format)

Please include: Child’s name and age

Virtual Israel Mission
Monday, August 10-14

Visit Tel Dan, Haifa, Jaffa, Masada, and of course Jerusalem with licensed Israeli tour guide Rotem Hemed Shahar. Each day will bring highlights of these special places via interactive Zoom sessions. Only $18 per Zoom square!  Learn more.

Sisterhood Book Discussion

Drive-Up Movie  
Thursday, August 20 at 7:45 pm

Enjoy The Frisco Kid and opening comedy shorts from the luxury of your own car! All BJ members are invited at no cost. The movie is a comedy-western rated PG. The movie's sound will be broadcast on your car radio's FM station (or bring a separate radio that receives FM).  For safety/health reasons you must stay in your car or stand/stretch immediately next to your car. Please review all COVID related restrictions outlined on the registration site.  It is mandatory to follow all requirements at this event. Bring your own refreshments and get ready for a fun evening full of laughter, fun and friends. Space is limited to the first 50 cars to sign up.

Drive-Up Shabbat Rocks
Friday, August 21 at 7:00 pm

Clap your hands and stomp your feet as you dance to the music at B’nai Jeshurun’s Drive-Up Shabbat Rocks! at a safe distance. Virtual options will still be available for the entire service through streaming and Zooming!

We are excited to take another step forward in re-opening the synagogue by bringing back one of our favorite summer programs, Shabbat Rocks! There will be live music and everyone will be able to enjoy the tunes of Shabbat Rocks! from the comfort of their own car in the back parking lot of B’nai Jeshurun. Shabbat Rocks! will include a 45 minute musical service followed by our acapella evening service. For those that are mourning, the Kaddish will be recited in both services.

Bring your own kippah, we will provide you with the Shabbat Rocks! prayer book. Please bring your own chairs if you’d like to sit outside next to your car in the parking lot.

Shabbat Rocks! brings together a live band playing some of today’s most upbeat Jewish music. Multiple musical genres are woven through the service, highlighting text from each of the Psalms, which creates an energizing and engaging service. Zoom, Sip & Paint with ATID

Join ATID on Zoom as we prepare for the New Year by painting with Denyse from "Artist at Heart Paint Party", sip on wine and schmooze! Everyone will receive all the materials they need for the event from the canvas, paint, brushes and even the wine! 

We will deliver everything to you for an additional $5 fee or work it out for you to pick it up at B'nai Jeshurun.
Cost: This program is FREE thanks to the support in part by a Jewish Federation of Cleveland Young Leadership Division Microgrant.

Kick-off Event
Tea, Scones & Sisters

Patricia Denison, the owner of Palmer Tea Co. will speak to us about tea in England and the Art of High Tea. Additionally, we would love you to share your special tea cups with us. Everyone will receive a special goody bag from Sisterhood which may be picked up at B’nai Jeshurun on Sunday, August 23rd between 10:30-11:30 am; rain or shine. This program is free, but please let us know if you plan to pick up a goody bag by RSVPing to Cathy Randall by August 19.

Men's Club Happy Hour

August 18: August 18: Jewish Big Brothers and Jewish Big Sisters. Join us for a stimulating presentation and open table conversation about the impact of this organization on young Jewish lives in our community.  Jewish Big Brother and B'nai Jeshurun member Alan Lipp, his "Little" and social worker Jill Sadowski will discuss the many activities conducted by the organization, the visible progress of the "Littles" and the real value of this program.  This is a can't miss event.  Tell your friends to join us.

Kids Cooking Club
Wednesdays at 11 am 

Geared for kids 7 and up. Join us on Wednesday mornings at 11:00 am through August 12  for a fun hour of ooking with different leaders. Please let us know if you/your child would like to lead a cooking demonstration at one session.  A list of ingredients, supplies & recipe will be available the week prior to each cooking club session. The Sukert Family will make Two-Ingredient Hot Bagels & Creamy No Churn Ice Cream.  All are welcome.  Zoom, Meeting ID:  989 5047 4129.
