B'NAI JESHURUN TRIBUTE brunch
HONORING mary and murray berkowitz
sunday, JUly 14, 2019
It is with gratitude and pride that we will honor Mary and Murray Berkowitz at the 2019 Tribute Brunch on Sunday, July 14!
B'nai Jeshurun's Tribute Event is our signature fund raiser, providing crucial support for our various programs and services. Congregants, community members and clergy gather to honor exemplary members of our congregation for their service and dedication to the synagogue and the community. We hope you will save the date of Sunday, July 14 as we honor Mary and Murray!
As a special treat, in addition to tribute ads and our Congregational Directory, this year's tribute book will also contain treasured recipes from the Berkowitzes and synagogue kitchen. The book will be referenced throughout the year and beyond.
The morning will begin with a reception featuring an art show from acclaimed contemporary Judaic artist Marlene Burns, a brunch buffet with delicious food stations, followed by remarks from our clergy, Mary and Murray's friends and family, and of course, the honorees themselves! Following the Brunch will be a sale of Marlene Burns' work, benefiting B'nai Jeshurun.
Registration has closed for the event, but you can still make a donation in support of the Berkowitzes and B'nai Jeshurun here. Please denote that the gift is in honor of the Berkowitzes.
Art Show and Sale
In conjunction with the Tribute Brunch, we invite you to join us for an art show and sale of the works of Marlene Burns on Sunday, July 14 from 1:30-4 pm and Monday, July 15 from 2-7 pm. Marlene is a contemporary Judaic artist, native Clevelander and beloved cousin of Murray! Marlene will be present at the show to explain the stories behind her meaningful art and answer questions. A portion of the proceeds, whether in person over the weekend or online after the show, will benefit B’nai Jeshurun. This show and sale is open to the entire community. You can preview Marlene's beautiful work here.
