B'NAI JESHURUN TRIBUTE brunch
HONORING mary and murray berkowitz
sunday, JUly 14, 2019
It is with gratitude and pride that we will honor Mary and Murray Berkowitz at the 2019 Tribute Brunch on Sunday, July 14!
B'nai Jeshurun's Tribute Event is our signature fund raiser, providing crucial support for our various programs and services. Congregants, community members and clergy gather to honor exemplary members of our congregation for their service and dedication to the synagogue and the community. We hope you will save the date of Sunday, July 14 as we honor Mary and Murray!
As a special treat, in addition to tribute ads and our Congregational Directory, this year's tribute book will also contain treasured recipes from the Berkowitzes and synagogue kitchen. The book will be referenced throughout the year and beyond.
The morning will begin with a reception featuring an art show and sale from acclaimed contemporary Judaic artist Marlene Burns, a brunch buffet with delicious food stations, followed by remarks from our clergy, Mary and Murray's friends and family, and of course, the honorees themselves!
Registration for the Brunch is $54 for adults and $18 for children 2-12 years of age. Free babysitting will be available.
Honor Mary and Murray while also supporting B’nai Jeshurun
Join us in recognizing the Berkowitzes by purchasing a Tribute Ad in the Program Book/Congregational Directory or becoming a sponsor. Sponsors are acknowledged in event marketing and at the Tribute Brunch, receive an ad in the Program Book/Congregational Directory, and receive tickets to the Tribute Brunch. Both tributes ads and sponsorships provide crucial philanthropic support to the synagogue and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Art Show and Sale
In conjunction with the Tribute Brunch, we invite you to join us for an art show and sale of the works of Marlene Burns on Sunday, July 14 from 1:30-4 pm and Monday, July 15 from 2-7 pm. Marlene is a contemporary Judaic artist, native Clevelander and beloved cousin of Murray! Marlene will be present at the show to explain the stories behind her beautiful art and answer questions. All profits from the sale, whether in person over the weekend or online after the show, will benefit B’nai Jeshurun. This show and sale is open to the entire community. You can preview Marlene's beautiful work here.
