B'nai Jeshurun Celebrates Israel Week

B'nai Jeshurun is proud to celebrate Israel Week as part of our 150th Anniversary celebration. 


SATURDAY, JANUARY 23

9:00 am  Shabbat service honoring Israelis with IDF soldiers as guest speakers; Israel-themed kiddush
7:00 pm  BJUSY goes on a traveling taste of Israel!   
7:30 pm  Israeli Wine Tasting & Art Showcase at Pennello Gallery in Little Italy
        $25 per person includes six wine samples and light hors d’oeuvres; space is limited. Register.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 24

10:30 am  Passport through Israel - A Program for Families
        An exciting virtual journey through the land of Israel, its people, culture and land. The program is geared to families with children up to 10 years old.  Free but registration is requested. Register.

MONDAY, JANUARY 25

7:00 pm  Kabbalistic Tu B’Shevat Seder for Adults - No knowledge of Kabbalah is necessary.
        The seder includes four glasses of wine, fruits, nuts and a sumptuous dessert.  $5 per person; subsidized in part by the Weingold Adult Learning Fund. Register.

4:15 pm  Bessie Hershey Religious School Celebrates Tu B’Shevat

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27

7:30 pm  Screening of the Award-Winning Israeli Film “Footnote” 
        Eliezer and Uriel Shkolnik are father and son as well as rival professors in Talmudic Studies. When both men learn that Eliezer will be lauded for his work, their complicated relationship reaches a new peak. Thank-you to our Men's Club and Sisterhood, this event is FREE. Register.

        Enjoy live music with Naomi Less, stop by the barista bar to sip some nescafe, Turkish coffee, tea with nana, sample delicious bourekas and desserts, and more!  $18 per person. Register.
