Food insecurity, the lack of access to sufficient or quality food to meet one's basic needs,
is a tragic reality for many in and beyond our Jewish community. Our tradition demands we open our hand
to our needy fellow (Deuteronomy 15:7), share our bread with the hungry (Isaiah 58:7), and even requires
that every Jewish city have a food pantry for those in need (Sanhedrin 17b).

Join us for a Food Insecurity Shabbaton, hosted by B'nai Jeshurun's Tzedek Committee
in partnership with MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, as we feed our minds, our bellies, and our community.

This Passover, let’s deepen our commitment to our Seder’s call: “Let all who are hungry come and eat.”
To complement our Shabbaton, MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger is excited to share The Hunger Museum, a groundbreaking project
that illuminates the history of hunger in America and the opportunities to create a new future without it.
The Hunger Museum is a unique and powerful digital experience grounded in Jewish values,
sitting at the intersection of art, history, and action that has become the hallmark of MAZON’s work to end hunger.

Take a self-guided tour at hungermuseum.org

Our congregation is grateful for the ongoing support of the Norma and Albert Geller Social Justice Endowment Fund which is generously providing funding for this program.
