Author Joe Kraus will lead a discussion about his book, The Kosher Capones: A History of Chicago’s Jewish Gangsters. Joe is Professor & Chair of the Department of English & Theatre at The University of Scranton where he teaches American literature and creative writing.  He is currently the president of MELUS, the Society for the Study of Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States, and he has written widely about organized crime and literature. And, yes, his grandfather and great-uncles were Jewish gangsters active in the Chicago of Al Capone.
