Rabbi Josh Foster

Rabbi Josh Foster joined B’nai Jeshurun Congregation in 2012, focusing on youth,
education and family engagement and overseeing the congregation’s Youth & Learning Center and Bessie Hershey Religious School. Growing up in metro Detroit, Rabbi Josh graduated from the joint program at Columbia and the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS)
and was ordained as a rabbi at JTS together with a master’s degree in Jewish education.
A strong advocate for experiential Jewish education, Rabbi Josh has worked extensively with Camp Ramah in Canada and USY, and has piloted many new experiences for students and families, most notably the ever-popular Youth Shabbaton held each spring at Camp Wise. He also works regularly with Gross Schechter Day School and Mandel Jewish Day School connecting with students. Rabbi Josh enjoys playing basketball and exploring the world (43 countries across 6 continents and counting…), and he resides in Beachwood with his wife Katie and their daughter Leora.
