The "Art" & Art of Rabbi Matt Berkowitz

Since his ordination from The Jewish Theological Seminary in 1999, Rabbi Matt Berkowitz has been engaged in bridging the seemingly disparate worlds of Jewish learning and art. In this session, Rabbi Berkowitz will give you a window into his artistic journey and share the breadth of his creations over the past 20 years. We will explore the artwork of The Lovell Haggadah, a limited edition portfolio consisting of 27 illuminations; tzedakah boxes; papercuts; and stunning set of mezuzot that was just completed in Jerusalem. Rabbi Berkowitz is the JTS Director of Israel Programs & Co-founder of Kol HaOt: Illuminating Jewish Life Through Art, Jerusalem. This class is hybrid.
