The Abraham Family: The Singer of Shanghai
Sunday, April 10, 2022 • 9 Nisan 5782
2:00 PM - 3:00 PMZoomJoin Kevin Ostoyich as he recounts the history of the family of our very own Harry Abraham, who were among the 18,000 Jewish refugees who fled Europe during World War II, seeking shelter in Shanghai. The Abraham Family journeyed from Frickhofen, Germany to Shanghai and then on to Cleveland. Through the prowess, inner strength and good fortune of family matriarch Ida, her kin found safety in Shanghai, and she was able to make ends meet with the Singer sewing machine her grandmother had given her as a child.
