Rabbi Hal Rudin-Luria

Rabbi Hal Rudin-LuriaRabbi Hal Rudin-Luria joined B’nai Jeshurun in 2001. He is a certified Mesader Gittin officiant of Jewish divorce. Raised on the Jersey Shore, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2001. Before joining B’nai Jeshurun, Rabbi Rudin-Luria served as a student rabbi in Huntsville, Alabama and New York City, chaplain at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, the US Navy, the New York Jewish Healing Center as a grief counselor, and in Los Angeles in a Jewish home for recovering addicts. At the congregation in addition to counseling, life cycles and sermons, he works with Chesed (Social Action), Mishpachot Young Families, Atid 20’s & 30’s, coordinates adult education offerings and teaches in the religious school. Rabbi Rudin-Luria is involved in many organizations including serving on the board of Gross Schechter Day School, AJC (American Jewish Committee), Mitzvah Circle Foundation and the Greater Cleveland Board of Rabbis and is an alumni member of Jewish Federation's National Young Leadership Cabinet. He has served a rabbinic role on Federation missions to Israel and Poland. He enjoys golf, exercise, watching movies, reading spy thrillers and is an avid sports fan. He and his wife Erika have two sons, two golden retrievers and a golden doodle.
