Inclusion Shabbat Friday, January 24 • 6:30 pm
After the success of our first Inclusion Shabbat, with over 50 attendees, we are excitedly looking forward to the next one! The 30 minute service is led by Rabbi Foster and we use a special, colorful siddur with shortened prayers. Everyone is encouraged to participate, at their own level; there are parts in Hebrew and in English. This service allows everyone to enjoy the warmth of Shabbat. Open to the entire community, the service is geared toward those who are mentally and physically other-abled (and their families). We plan to hold these services every other month. Please contact Gerry Erenberg ([email protected]) for further information. Inclusion Shabbat is one of several projects undertaken by the Inclusion Committee. Other projects include the installation of a handicapped accessible main entry and vestibule, hearing loops and remodeling one of the bathrooms to be ADA compliant and gender neutral. Please notify us if there are other accommodations you feel might benefit our members.
