Education Engagement Rabbi Josh Foster

Rabbi FosterRabbi Josh Foster joined B'nai Jeshurun Congregation in 2012 upon receiving rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary.
Raised in suburban Detroit, he received his undergraduate education at Columbia University and JTS, and received an MA in Jewish Education from JTS. Prior to joining B'nai Jeshurun, Josh worked as Hazzan and Ritual Director at Congregation Agudas Achim in San Antonio, Texas. Over the years, Rabbi Josh's focus has remained experiential education and community building. To that end he worked in Israel with the Tichon Ramah Yerushalayim High School program and with Israel trips for North American day school students, has worked extensively with Camp Ramah in Canada, USY, and with youth programming and education for numerous synagogues across the New York area, worked with the Genesis summer program for high school students at Brandeis University, and for two years served as a basketball coach in Jerusalem with PeacePlayers, an organization that brings children from different backgrounds together through the sport.
