To accommodate the many constituencies among our members, B’nai Jeshurun offers an array of affiliate organizations that allow for extensive congregational involvement.

The Sisterhood is well known for its programming and service to the synagogue. The Sisterhood meets regularly offering classes, book reviews, luncheons, special speakers and much more. The Sisterhood also operates an outstanding gift shop with a well-stocked inventory of beautiful Judaica.

The Men’s Club is a very active auxiliary. Nationally recognized by the National Association of Men’s Clubs of United Synagogue, our Men’s Club offers unique programming including an annual reverse raffle and dinner, monthly Sunday morning breakfasts, and other creative and spirited educational, social and social action programming. The Men’s Club also sponsors our award winning Annual Cholent Cookoff.

Hazak is a relatively new affiliate organization offering programs for synagogue members over the age of 55. Regularly scheduled arts, educational, and social activities have been well received. It is anticipated that Hazak will continue to grow as even more members get involved.

Young Families engages parents and their children from infants to pre-teens in activities including holiday celebrations, Shabbat dinners, game nights and other social events. Equally important, Young Families allows parents and children the opportunity to get to know one another and form long lasting friendships.

Young Associates focuses on single adults from 22 to 40 and young married couples without children. Young Associates meet during the year for Shabbat dinners and special programs. These events, as well as social activities, create opportunities for younger adult members to connect with one another.

Also, at B’nai Jeshurun, we are fortunate to have active and involved youth and teens. The next generation of leaders is a source of pride for all of our members.

Kadima serves youth in grades six through eight. Kadima hosts a variety of educational and social programs within the synagogue and in cooperation with other synagogues. Kadimaniks also attend mid-west regional Kadima conventions.

United Synagogue Youth (USY) engages teens in grades nine through twelve in a group experience that can last a lifetime. Friendships, a deeper understanding of social action, leadership, and fun are some of the many benefits of USY. USYers also share in Midwest (CRUSY) regional conventions and Shabbatonim and a week-long summer encampment, and are eligible to participate in a host of international summer programs including Israel Pilgrimage, Poland/Israel Seminar and USY on Wheels.  For information, contact Tami Siegal at 216-839-0222 or see the BJUSY website at http://bjusy.org.
